Using the situation of the street as a starting point, Camera trap uses standard cctv cameras to capture the images of passersby in a passive somewhat accidental (without motion sensor) mode, otherwise similar to hidden camera wildlife ‘photography’ technique.
A storefront studio on a street with foot traffic is the setup to produce these images. In practical terms, the street in front of the studio has become an add-on, an architectural ‘addition’.
The concept and practice combines standard camera trap / wildlife recording technique, and computer generated tools, following in methodology the discipline of these practices.
